Lukasz Kuropaczewski

Lukasz Kuropaczewski is giving masterclasses in our festival of 2010

Biography
Lukasz Kuropaczewski, born in 1981 in Gniezno, Poland, has toured extensively throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, and Japan. Most notably, he has performed solo recitals in London’s Royal Festival Hall, The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, National Philharmony Hall and National Radio Hall in Warsaw, and Carnegie Hall in New York. He has also performed as a soloist in music centers in France, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Iceland, Greece, Bulgaria, Japan, the Canary Islands, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
In 2005, Mr. Kuropaczewski performed the Concierto de Aranjuez with the National Polish Radio Orchestra under the baton of British Conductor Mark Fitzgerald on a special Last Night of the Proms concert in Krakow, Poland. He performs regularly with orchestras across Poland.

As a chamber musician, Kuropaczewski has collaborated with musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra, the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, and the San Antonio Symphony, as well as with musicians from his native Poland, performing repertoire from Vivaldi to Boccherini.

Mr. Kuropaczewski has five recordings to his credit: Lukasz Kuropaczewski - Recital, Kuropaczewski plays Spanish Music, Concerto de Aranjuez, Lukasz Kuropaczewski: Portrait, and most recently, Lukasz Kuropaczewski: Polish Music. All have received critical acclaim around the world.

After beginning his guitar studies at the age of ten, Mr. Kuropaczewski studied with the distinguished Polish professor Piotr Zaleski from 1994 to 2003, and upon receiving a Masters Degree from the Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland, he entered the Peabody Institute where he studied, on a full scholarship, under Maestro Manuel Barrueco and graduated with Artist Diploma in 2008.

Kuropaczewski is on the faculty at the Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland, as well as he is a guitar instructor at the Pennsylvania University in Philadelphia, PA.
