During our festival in 2009, at least two guitar concertos will be performed!

On Saturday, November 7 the concert, written in 1839 by the Dutch composer Aron Wolff Berlijn will be performed. This concert was rediscovered by former- member of the Amsterdam Guitar Trio, Olga Franssen. In our festival the “modern première“of this fine concerto, preceded by a lecture by Olga Franssen. Soloist will be Machteld den Boer, who won the 2nd prize in 2008 in our festival.

On sunday 8, there will be the celebration of 70 years with Leo Brouwer! In this concert, we'll have Leo Brouwer to conduct one of his own concerto's (Concerto de Toronto; première in the Netherlands)!! Soloist will be Florian Moritz, who was the 1st prize winner in our competition in 2008.

De production of these concerto's will be realized in cooperation with the professional orchestra Musica Michaëlis, conducted by Toon Verhagen. The orchestra was founded in 2008!
